Job Summary
Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on all production and facility equipment to ensure adequate machinery availability for day and night operations. Review equipment reports submitted by associates, record actions and repairs taken, and maintain a repair log per USF policy. Complete all applicable documentation for equipment-related activities, including assembly and disassembly forms, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment while maintaining proper logs. Comply with all USF and government safety guidelines regarding lock out/tag out, placarding, and safe work environments. Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries, and related equipment, ensuring proper inventory management and security of tools and replacement parts. Work Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with overtime eligibility.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Additional mechanic training or trade school degree
- A minimum of six months previous mechanic experience
- Knowledge of equipment repair and operation
- Ability to repair and overhaul warehouse & production equipment
- Welding ability
- Ability to read and write legibly
- Ability to follow orders
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to work with little direct supervision
- 2nd shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm (OT)
- Maintain proper Hazmat documentation
- Ensure preventive maintenance is fulfilled per schedules
- Comply with all USF and government guidelines regarding safety when working on equipment (i.e. Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding and required documentation, safe work environment, etc.)
- Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries and other equipment contained therein
- Responsible for company tools, replacement parts and maintenance equipment used in performance of job duties, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of tool area
- If authorized, may purchase tools and other equipment needs from local vendors to perform required duties
