Job Summary
Overhaul, repair, and test high-speed production equipment including ovens, packaging machines, mixers, and cartoners throughout the facility. Diagnose and resolve issues related to drive trains, basic electrical systems, PLCs, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics while maintaining cleanliness and updating shop prints. Coordinate with management on locking/tagging systems, manage spare parts inventory, and train new hires on safety and maintenance practices. Complete daily required paperwork per Quality guidelines and observe all GMPs and USDA standards. Work the 1:45 PM to 10:15 PM shift with overtime and weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Prior maintenance experience in a production environment
- Electrical ability
- Hydraulic ability
- Pneumatic ability
- Welding ability
- Understanding of drive train (Belts, pulleys, sprockets, and chain drives)
- Basic electrical knowledge (110 single phase and 480 & 230 v 3 phase)
- PLC operation knowledge
- Motor control knowledge
- Fabrication knowledge (welding, grinding, and assembly)
- Hydraulic knowledge (motors, pumps, and valves)
- Pneumatics knowledge (air valves and controls)
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
- Ability to follow all safety, GMP's, and USDA guidelines
- Ability to complete required paperwork daily per Quality guidelines
- Ability to understand, use and update shop prints, specifications
- Ability to refer to manufacturer manual for servicing and installation of equipment and distribution systems
- Ability to determine workforce and material requirements
- Ability to recommend changes to work assignments
- Ability to prepare, paint surfaces and maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Ability to use tools and test equipment of the trade
- Ability to maintain spare parts inventory and order parts
- Ability to coordinate with Maintenance management when locking and tagging systems
- Ability to observe safety requirements
- Ability to observe and assist outside contractors for compliance with ConAgra standards
- Ability to train new hires/transfers regarding proper maintenance and safety practices
