Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift: 4pm

Job Summary
Receive work orders, review requirements for tools and parts, and respond to crisis calls with necessary equipment. Read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose malfunctions, then disassemble, replace faulty parts, and reassemble mechanical systems. Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, packaging, and slicing equipment while fabricating replacement parts through welding or sheet metal work. Install new appliances and utilities, monitor wastewater equipment for regulatory compliance, and maintain the master preventative maintenance schedule. Adhere to OSHA, FDA, and GFSI safety and quality policies, including Lock-Out Tag-Out practices, while reporting nonconformities. Maintain activity logs, progress reports, and work areas daily. Available 24/7 on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment
- 4 years' direct experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing maintenance environment
- Vocational Diploma, Technical Diploma or associate degree from a technical maintenance or vocational school
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors
- Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm
- An organized problem solver, able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift or other powered industrial trucks (PIT)
- Experience with High-Sped Packaging Machinery and industrial electrical PLC
- Familiarity with Sanitary Environments
- Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic systems and Control System knowledge
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Exceptional verbal and written communication with an excellent command of the English language
- Positive, proactive, and self-motivated with leadership qualities
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Experience working with CMMS software
- Ability to read and execute work order, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals
- On-Call availability 24/7
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
