Job Summary
Maintenance Technician responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and securing school facilities and grounds. Duties include supervising staff or services assisting in cleaning, inspecting for cleanliness, operating and regulating heating and environmental control systems for economical fuel usage, opening/closing the building, performing basic maintenance and repairs, maintaining logs and equipment files, conducting preventive maintenance inspections, assisting in landscape planning, cutting grass and trimming shrubs, ensuring confidentiality and professional interaction with students and employees, complying with Board policies, and providing 24-hour emergency maintenance support as required; requires high school diploma, Alabama CDL, physical fitness, effective communication, and adherence to safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- A valid Alabama Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Good physical and emotional health including the ability to perform duties described in essential functions
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
