Maintenance Technician - 1st shift

Job Summary

Support and adhere to all plant safety policies while ensuring electrical schematics and instrumentation remain calibrated and current. Troubleshoot unscheduled equipment downtime, perform repairs, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities via the CMMS system. Coordinate maintenance work orders to balance production needs, conduct root cause analysis to improve overall equipment effectiveness, and coach machine operators on proper equipment usage. Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and participate in special projects as assigned. This 1st shift role requires a technician with 3-5 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications, including proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, and test equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic applications
  • Knowledge of AC/DC variable frequency drives (VFD's), servo motors, and controls wiring
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Ability to use test equipment (multi-meter, laptop, micrometers, calipers, infrared guns, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Can troubleshoot PLC's and their inputs/outputs
  • General skills relating to the use of shop equipment such as drill presses, power tools, mills, and lathes
  • Proficiency with computers, such as email, internet, and MS Office applications
  • Prior CMMS experience
  • Physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended time frames
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly
  • Ability to stoop, squat, crawl and kneel as needed
  • Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Must have ability to multi-task and to identify and execute process improvements as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • HVAC experience with process chillers
  • Electro-Mechanical studies
