Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Job Summary

Safely operate power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment including multimeters. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine repair and maintenance procedures. Inspect, repair, and lubricate manufacturing equipment, machinery, and HVAC systems. Perform welding and light fabrication to repair equipment, facility infrastructure, and mechanical components. Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance on dock locks, ice machines, water softeners, and gas/diesel generators. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including boiler controls and related operating systems. Perform floor patching and other facility surface repairs to maintain a safe and functional work environment. Diagnose and repair plumbing systems, including piping, leaks, drains, and associated fixtures. Complete repairs and maintenance on roofs, overhead and service doors, forklifts, and floor scrubbers. Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to support equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues to minimize downtime and support plant operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all safety policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial, facilities, or maintenance technician experience
  • Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and multimeters
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial equipment and facility systems
  • Basic welding and metal fabrication skills
  • Knowledge of boiler systems, HVAC controls, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience performing building and facility repairs, including doors, roofs, and general structural maintenance
  • Ability to diagnose and repair plumbing systems, including piping, drains, fixtures, and leak-related issues
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a strong safety focus
  • Able to stand 8+ hours a day
  • Able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Comfortable with heights, lifts and ladders
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical Maintenance, or related field
