Job Summary
Maintenance Technician 1 responsible for responding to guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve maintenance issues, and performing preventive maintenance on tools and a wide range of hotel equipment including kitchen and mechanical room systems. Tasks include inspecting and operating shut-offs, maintaining inventory, coordinating daily activities with other shifts, performing surface preparation and painting, drywall and wood trim repairs, testing and repairing electrical components, plumbing, and appliances, programming TVs, and handling housekeeping/engineering-related inventory. Requires use of Lockout/Tagout procedures, basic computer skills for inputting schedules, and adherence to safety and security policies. Focus areas include air conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, kitchen equipment, landscaping, and energy conservation; emphasizes guest service, teamwork, and professional communication.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus
- Driver’s License
