Job Summary
Diagnose and troubleshoot all structural components related to building and grounds systems while performing skilled duties in painting, carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing, drywall, and HVAC maintenance. Maintain, repair, or remodel all owned and leased buildings and facilities by executing recognized crafts as assigned. Work independently without close supervision, adhering to all safety standards and established work practices while repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds. Schedule runs from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Florida driver's license required.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- Two or more years prior maintenance experience
- Florida driver's license
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills that allow the incumbent to work effectively with co-workers and vendors
- Skilled in the operation of a variety of hand tools and equipment common to the building trades and/or HVAC filtration systems
- Ability to work independently, without close supervision
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
- Must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend, stoop, pull, stretch, sit, stand, climb, and walk
- Drive motor vehicle
- Maintain records
- Sensitivity to service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
Desired Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years' experience in commercial maintenance
- Electrical, plumbing or HVAC certification
