Job Summary
Provide emergency and scheduled repairs for production equipment, diagnosing issues and replacing parts using mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Utilize hand and power tools to interpret schematics, manuals, and work orders while performing general building maintenance, including light repairs, trash management, and plumbing. Serve as a key member of the Safety Team by conducting 5S audits, enforcing OSHA guidelines, and submitting CPARS reports. Order parts and tooling per management approval while maintaining a clean workstation. Work Monday through Friday with flexibility for nights and weekends in a fast-paced plant environment involving variable conditions, dust, fumes, and noise.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- Formal and extensive training in mechanical environment
- 1 to 3 years' experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing
- Ability to read and perform basic math skills
- Ability to use a variety of tools
- Able to follow directions
- Strong manual dexterity
- Must be able to work from elevated platforms
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
- Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift
- Safety Toe boot/shoes are required
- Flexibility to work nights/weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Welding and light fabrication is preferred
- Ability to assist in improvements and a thorough understanding of mechanical devices is a plus
- Strong communication skills and familiarity with working in a team-based environment is preferred
