Job Summary
Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service across the entire plant facility to minimize unscheduled downtime. Perform emergency repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service, covering mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Diagnose malfunctions by sight, sound, or machine actions, then inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment. Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble parts while strictly complying with OSHA safety rules and housekeeping standards. Read and interpret equipment manuals and assist other maintenance employees as needed. Must work weekends, holidays, and overtime; requires high school diploma or GED plus two-year associate degree, apprenticeship, or relevant military training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- Two-year associate degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.)
- Completed apprenticeship in mechanics, mechanical maintenance, or electromechanical, electrical, or related field
- Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)
- 2+ years hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electromechanical, controls and automation, or related role
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Must be able to lift up-to 34 pounds for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds for 3+ hours per shift
- Must be able to sit, climb and work off ladder, and operate foot pedals for 3+ hours per shift
- Must be able to work in a dusty and cold environment for 3+ hours per shift
- Must be able to work in high heat and humidity for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stoop, walk, and reach above shoulders for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, and perform fine manipulation for 6+ hours per shift
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per shift
- Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift
- Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express and exchange written or spoken words, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience reading blueprints and schematics
- Previous experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Previous experience with power transmission components; belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears
- Previous experience with drill presses & lathes
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts
