Maintenance Tech - Tar Heel Rd. 2nd shift

Job Summary
Clean and lubricate machinery shafts, bearings, gears, and parts; troubleshoot and repair slitters, collectors, welders, conveyors, and palletizers. Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment while repairing gauges, valves, and pressure regulators. Perform building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep, and assess electrical issues as they arise. Log labor and parts in the CMMS system. Work little to no supervision with frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Use appropriate PPE and comply with safety policies while operating near high-speed automated equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years minimum experience as a maintenance mechanic in metal manufacturing environment
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice ISO9001 standards for metals manufacturing
- Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts as required
- Must participate in on-call program and may be required to work additional hours on off shift due to on-call program
- Understands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures
- Must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Appropriate personal protective equipment is required
Desired Qualifications
- Technical degree in maintenance-related field
- PLC experience
- Experience with and ability to use all types of welding, cutting, machine, and hand tools
- Experience in high speed packaging, welding, and mechanical power transmission
