Job Summary
Conduct maintenance and repair on ready mix concrete batch plants, motors, conveyors, and drives by diagnosing problems, performing mechanical fixes, and rebuilding parts. Inspect machinery conditions, lubricate equipment, and use hand/power tools, cutting torches, and welding gear for fabrication. Operate fixed and mobile equipment, including cranes and forklifts, to move heavy parts and shovel aggregate for housekeeping. Order parts from approved vendors and drive a pick-up or repair truck to retrieve supplies. Read technical manuals and schematics to interpret instructions. Comply with all environmental, health, safety, and training policies. Requires three years of experience in the construction or concrete industry and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) years' experience in the construction/mining/concrete industry
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Good mechanical and welding skills
- Sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of somewhat technical nature relating to products and vehicles
- Ability to read technical manuals and understand schematic diagrams
- Ability to operate crane, forklift, loaders, and various other types of mobile equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
