Job Summary
Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions, then dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts for repairs. Maintain food processing equipment by performing preventative maintenance on motors, bearings, belts, and fluid levels, while documenting all work and identifying required parts. Assist in leading daily functions, notify supervisors of necessary repairs in food handling areas, and ensure all tools and debris are removed post-maintenance to allow for hygiene and sanitation before operations commence.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Maintenance certification or equivalent experience
- Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
- Electrical knowledge
- Previous experience in maintenance
- Experience in Food Manufacturing or Processing
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Strong ability to work alone or with little supervision
- Ability to determine causes of operating errors and be able to resolve them
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Strong knowledge in Pneumatics, and Power Transmission
- Stand and walk constantly
- Grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently
- Sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
- Wear hairnets, clean clothes, etc.
