Job Summary
Prioritize planning and layout of work for repair orders via weekly meetings with administrative staff. Maintain on-call status via pager for evening and weekend emergency repairs. Perform approved maintenance and repair tasks including site cleanup, purchasing supplies, spackling/painting, fixing plumbing and electrical fixtures, assembling equipment like fire extinguishers and shelving, and repairing windows, woodwork, and floors. Maintain agency-owned mechanical and electrical equipment, making recommendations for repairs or replacements. Conduct ongoing physical site assessments to recommend repairs, maintenance, or purchases. Coordinate with outside contractors for efficient site operations and manage vehicle fleet service schedules. Perform routine custodial tasks such as snow/ice removal, responding to cleaning emergencies, changing filters, replacing ceiling tiles, and moving furniture. Respond to fire and security alarms using prescribed procedures. Attend required in-service training and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (implied by tasks like moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and repairing windows/floors)
- Must be available for evening and weekend emergency repairs (on-call status via pager)
- Must be able to work with outside contractors
- Must be able to coordinate service schedules on vehicle fleet
- Must be able to perform routine custodial tasks including snow/ice removal, responding to cleaning emergencies or flooding, changing ventilation/AC filters, and replacing ceiling tiles
- Must be able to respond to fire/security alarm systems and ensure security at sites through prescribed procedures
- Must be able to attend and participate in required in-service training or staff meetings
