Job Summary

Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions, then dismantle equipment to remove defective parts for repairs. Perform preventative maintenance on motors, bearings, belts, and fluid levels while executing general tasks like plumbing, electrical wiring, and installation. Document all work, including preventive maintenance and cost justification, and initiate purchase orders for parts. Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems, including frequency drives and inverters, using test equipment like voltmeters and clamp-on amp meters. Operate and maintain boilers and ammonia/glycol refrigeration systems, monitoring chemical usage and records. Fabricate and weld as needed for plant upgrades. Complete scheduled and unscheduled work orders, ensuring tools are removed and supervisors are notified before facility operations commence.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma
  • Maintenance certification or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
  • Previous experience in maintenance
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing or Processing
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Strong ability to work alone or with little supervision
  • Ability to determine causes of operating errors and be able to resolve them
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Strong knowledge in Pneumatics, and Power Transmission
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of computers
  • Knowledge of fork lifts
  • Knowledge in electrical and electronics including frequency drives and inverters, generators, computers and PM Software
  • Stand and walk constantly
  • Grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
  • Wear hairnets
  • Wear clean clothes

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Food Manufacturing or Processing very desirable
  • Knowledge in electrical and electronics including frequency drives and inverters, generators, computers and PM Software desired
