Job Summary
Conduct daily inspections of the interior and exterior facility, reporting deficiencies and safety issues to the Facility Manager. Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance, including repairs, equipment testing, and assisting with remodeling projects. Operate snow removal equipment at the 4040 Main St. building and parking lots, while also managing remote site visits and work orders. Pull data lines for the IT department, terminate and test connections, and assist in biohazard waste collection. Read blueprints to ensure work aligns with specified plans and communicate status updates to internal customers. Participate in an on-call rotation for facilities-related issues. This role supports the Building Operations department within the Facilities team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, including HVAC repair, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance
- Valid operator's license (MO Class E license or a Kansas Class C license)
- Knowledge of snow plowing equipment operation
- Ability to read and interpret medical, technical, regulatory and quality procedures
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Computer desktop applications and computer software systems
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to be accurate in transcription of numbers
- Ability to resolve problems and customer concerns
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify and analyze alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems within established policies and procedures
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with an electric welder (MIG)
- Some working knowledge of HVAC and boiler systems
- HS Diploma
- 5 years' experience
