Job Summary
Building Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintenance and repair of VOA facilities under the supervision of the supervisor or lead maintenance technician; ensures buildings, equipment and grounds are safe and in good repair; may supervise volunteers. Performs duties across appliances, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping and janitorial; identifies and addresses safety hazards; assists in apartment make-ready scheduling and 24-hour service-request completion; conducts preventive maintenance (daily/ weekly/ monthly/ quarterly/ bi-annual); maintains safe, clean, orderly facilities compliant with agency standards; attends meetings; maintains work-order documentation; provides after-hours, weekend and holiday emergency coverage; mentors Maintenance Technician I; inventories supplies; adheres to VOAC guidelines; participates in trainings; requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, some travel, and ability to perform emergency maintenance; full-time, Monday–Friday with additional hours for REAC inspections; compensation $26.00–$28.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- One year of previous maintenance technician experience
- Knowledge of all hand and power tools and their uses
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License, insurance verification and good driving record
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with residents and employees
