Job Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems for manufacturing and packaging equipment while performing daily inspections and preventive maintenance per established schedules. Quickly diagnose mechanical issues to reduce downtime and maintain product quality, collaborating with production teams on machine set-ups, changeovers, and calibrations. Log work orders and equipment history using the CMMS and maintain a clean, safe environment compliant with GMP, OSHA, and food safety standards. Support facility maintenance for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and general building systems, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects. This third-shift role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and working in cold environments from 8:00pm to 4:30am with on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or food production maintenance role
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work with tools, machinery, and mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of motors, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, compressors, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to work in cold and/or wet environments typical of frozen food manufacturing
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification or trade school
- Basic electrical troubleshooting
- Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems
- Comfort working around food-grade environments with strict cleanliness and safety protocols
