Job Summary
Perform diverse maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, general repair, and vacancy preparation. Execute specialized repairs, provide instruction to staff, and conduct pre-REAC inspections. Facilitate vacancy preparation by removing large items, ensure grounds are maintained by removing trash, and represent the Authority on-site. Participate in technical training sessions and provide after-hours emergency services as scheduled. Purchase necessary materials in accordance with Authority policy. This full-time role reports to the Lead Maintenance Technician. Candidates must have two years of experience in multifamily rental property maintenance, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience performing general maintenance duties at a multifamily rental property
- Knowledge of principles, practices, tools, and materials used in one or more building trades (e.g., carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry, heating, or electrical)
- Skill in the use and care of common hand and power tools for maintenance and construction
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs across various trades
- Ability to clearly communicate ideas and instructions, both orally and in writing
- Ability to follow instructions effectively
- Comfort working at elevated heights and performing moderately heavy manual work
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, residents, and the public
- Strong problem-solving skills for general maintenance issues
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Must be insurable by the Authority's Fleet insurance carrier
