Job Summary

Conduct repair, maintenance, welding, and fabrication services to meet Gainey's Concrete Products objectives. Perform daily fabrications as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and VP of Operations, using hand tools, hoists, jacks, and power tools to assemble, install, align, and adjust machines. Troubleshoot and repair machines, read work orders and diagrams to determine procedures, and ensure safety devices function properly. Assist with routine maintenance, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and shop tool upkeep. Offload trucks as needed and perform other duties assigned, sometimes outside the maintenance scope. Work under strict deadlines, occasionally extending beyond normal schedules, while maintaining continuous improvement in safety, quality, housekeeping, and production efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, helpful, and have strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to multitask at any given time and provide attention to accuracy and detail
  • General carpentry skills such as using a table saw, miter saw, and circular saw
  • Automotive and industrial mechanical skills
  • Able to use various tools and machinery such as hand tools, electric, and pneumatic impacts for assembly and fabrication
  • Ability to remove tires and wheels from equipment
  • Able to read and interpret production drawings
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and occasionally work longer than the normal schedule
  • Able to accurately read a tape measure
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, working independently without supervision, energetic, positive attitude, and helpful in all areas of the warehouse
  • Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills used in a diverse team working environment
  • Bilingual helpful
  • Have the ability to learn basic rigging and concrete repair techniques
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing & electrical work, such as repairing leaking water lines, replacing electrical outlets, and light fixtures
  • Basic knowledge of operating heavy equipment, such as tractors, excavators, skid steer, and forklift
  • Must be able to complete a 7-year background check
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment drug testing
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more
  • Specific vision abilities required include vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Desired Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of operating heavy equipment, such as tractors, excavators, skid steer, and forklift - preferred
