Job Summary
Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions, then dismantle equipment to remove defective parts and conduct repairs. Maintain food processing equipment by performing preventative tasks such as inspecting motors, bearings, and fluid levels, while also handling plumbing, electrical wiring, and new installations. Document all maintenance activities, identify required parts, and notify supervisors before commencing work in food handling areas. Remove tools and debris post-maintenance to ensure hygiene and sanitation compliance. Requires high school diploma, maintenance certification, and previous food manufacturing experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma
- Maintenance certification or equivalent experience
- Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
- Previous experience in maintenance
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Strong ability to work alone or with little supervision
- Ability to determine causes of operating errors and be able to resolve them
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Strong knowledge in Pneumatics
- Strong knowledge in Power Transmission
- Stand and walk constantly
- Grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend
- Lift up to 10 pounds frequently
- Sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
- Willingness to wear hairnets and clean clothes
