Job Summary
Maintenance Technician role focusing on repair, installation and maintenance of plant equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, and support for operations during night shift. Reads and interprets electrical, mechanical, and P&ID diagrams; calibrates instrumentation; troubleshoots and repairs instrumentation devices; maintains electrical piping and heat trace systems; supports preventative maintenance, and collaborates with other maintenance personnel to ensure plant reliability. 5+? No, 7+ years experience required. Shift: Sunday-Thursday night shift with possible overtime; location: Willow Springs, IL; responsibilities include working outdoors and adhering to PPE and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Seven+ years mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry (Industrial trade school attendance may be considered work experience)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (approx. 50' in height)
- Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Able to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and safety work boots) as required
- Available for shifts and occasional on-call rotation (nights and/or weekends) to respond to plant 'call-outs' as required
- Understanding of State and Federal OSHA and EPA industry standards
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
- Good time management skills (manage overtime)
- Able to work in a Team environment
- Instrumentation repair, installation and maintenance of digital and/or analog equipment
- Experience supervising electrical/mechanical work
- Experience estimating/pricing/bidding electrical work
- Experience purchasing materials for mechanical/electrical work
- Welding (Stick; structural, pipe)
- Pipefitting (welded, threaded, glued/plastic)
