Job Summary
Inspect grounds for safety hazards, remove debris and snow, and clean walls, windows, and fixtures. Transport medical waste and building supplies, stock inventory, and monitor water circulation pumps and thermostats. Perform minor repairs on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, including faucet service, valve rebuilding, and generator startups. Troubleshoot HVAC, sewer lines, and lighting while assisting with pest control and bio-hazard collection. Execute monthly elevator upkeep, new construction support, and building security lock maintenance. Drive a box truck for large projects and operate a golf cart as needed. Comply with patient confidentiality regulations and assist the Director of Plant in remote site maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic understanding of plumbing, carpentry, and electricity
- Ability to operate and learn how to repair all types mechanical/maintenance equipment
- Team player with great communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Visual and auditory accuracy
- Ability to respond quickly and calmly in building emergencies
- Extensive standing and walking
- Working both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to read and interpret detailed specifications, technical manuals, instruments, dials, etc.
- Ability to understand/carry out simple/detailed oral/written instructions
- Ability to memorize and retain instructions
- Ability to diagnose and repair machinery, equipment and instrument malfunctions
- Ability to shadow vendors for repairs
- Must be able to drive a box truck for large scale projects
- Must be able to operate a golf cart when needed
- Must be able to frequently work in confined, noisy areas
- Must be able to frequently work at moderate heights and on ladders
- Must be able to frequently be exposed to electrical, chemical and gaseous conditions and moving machinery
- Must be able to frequently squat, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, climbing
- Must be able to occasionally operate industrial machinery
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 55 lbs
- Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 200 lbs
- Must be able to occasionally be exposed to hazardous materials
- Must comply with all regulations related to confidentiality of patient information
