Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including lights, plumbing, windows, screens, carpet, tile, and painting, while coordinating work orders with the Programs Supervisor. Oversee preventative maintenance contracts for generators, fire systems, elevators, HVAC, and pest control, ensuring compliance with Office of Mental Health standards. Manage resident room preparations for new admissions and maintain ongoing contact with lawn care and snow removal vendors. Perform monthly fire safety inspections, schedule fire drills, and respond to on-call emergencies. Gathers price estimates for major repairs and ensures all property grounds are cleaned and debris-free. Works independently to meet agency deadlines while following all safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift at least 70 pounds
- Clean, valid NYS driving record as outlined in DePaul's personnel policy
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals required
- Ability to use a computer for email and ticketing system
- Three years of work experience in providing hands on maintenance in a large facility to include electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, drywall repair, and other minor repair work preferred
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Trade or industrial arts coursework preferred
