Job Summary
Conduct maintenance planning for sawmill equipment including De-Barkers, Gang Edgers, Trimmers, and hydraulic systems while managing department costs and developing key metrics. Supervise maintenance and cleanup personnel across varying schedules, coordinate preventive maintenance routes, and lead troubleshooting efforts with shift supervisors to ensure production standards. Enforce safety protocols through lock-out procedures, field-level risk assessments, and contractor safety leadership, while arranging WF training and mentoring apprentices. Inspect completed work, manage parts with the purchaser, and schedule attendance. Includes periodic weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Prior Journeyman Electrician or Millwright
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Well organized
- Minimum of five years (plus) of industrial experience
- Leadership and communication skills
- Prior Supervisory experience
- Lumber industry experience
- Will include periodic weekend coverage
Desired Qualifications
- Two or Four-year degree preferred
