Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems by checking blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals to determine corrective action. Inspect, operate, and test machinery to identify malfunctions, while performing basic welding and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers. Execute and assign preventive maintenance on facility and production assets, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Manage equipment repairs outside standard hours, oversee all shifts, and ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance. Monitor technician training status and provide necessary instruction. Partner with the Production Manager to develop and maintain budgets for capital expenditures and parts. Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing, record results, and adjust chemicals as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment
- Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in Hand & Power tools
- Lockout / Tagout experience
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school and/or GED
- Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background
- Applicable military experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel
