Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems by checking blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals while inspecting, operating, and testing machinery to identify malfunctions. Perform basic welding, troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers, and execute preventive maintenance on facility and production assets using a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Manage and assign repairs outside standard hours, oversee shift responsibilities, and ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout procedures. Monitor technician training status and partner with the Production Manager to develop and maintain budgets for capital expenditures and parts. Requires minimum three years of industrial equipment repair experience, two years supervising maintenance personnel, and proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel
- Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in Hand & Power tools
- Lockout / Tagout experience
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school and/or GED
- Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background
- Applicable military experience
