Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems by checking blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals. Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions, perform basic welding, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers. Perform and assign preventive maintenance on facility and production assets, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Manage equipment repairs, oversee shifts, and implement regulatory and environmental compliance requirements. Assume responsibility for safety, including Confined Space and Lockout/Tagout procedures. Monitor technician training status and develop maintenance partners. Partner with the Production Manager to develop, manage, and maintain budgets for building, equipment, capital expenditures, and parts/labor.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel
- Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in Hand & Power tools
- Lockout / Tagout experience
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school and/or GED
- Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background
- Applicable military experience
