Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems by checking blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals. Inspect, operate, and test machinery to identify malfunctions, while performing basic welding and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers. Execute preventive maintenance on facility and production assets, adhering to documented schedules and manufacturer specifications. Manage equipment repairs outside standard hours, oversee all shifts, and ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System and partner with leadership to develop and maintain budgets for capital expenditures and parts. Train and develop maintenance personnel, monitor their status, and perform required procedures such as Lockout/Tagout and confined space entry.
Required Qualifications
- Minnesota Special Engineer Boiler License
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment
- Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment. This includes wiring, electrical, mechanical, electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing required
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required
- Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems is required
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required
- Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills is required
- Experience in Hand & Power tools is required
- Lockout / Tagout experience is required
- Ability to work overtime as needed is required
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school and/or GED is preferred
- Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel is preferred
- Applicable military experience will be considered
