Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems by checking blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals. Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions while performing basic welding and troubleshooting PLCs. Perform and assign preventive maintenance on facility assets, manage equipment repairs outside standard hours, and oversee all shifts in the maintenance department. Oversee regulatory and environmental compliance, ensure safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout, and utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Partner with the Production Manager to manage budgets for capital expenditures and parts. Train and develop maintenance personnel, monitor their status, and provide required time for skills training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel
- Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics
- Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills
- Experience in Hand & Power tools
- Lockout / Tagout experience
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school and/or GED
- Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background
- Applicable military experience
