Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems by checking blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals, then inspect, operate, and test machinery to identify malfunctions. Perform basic welding, troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), and execute preventive maintenance on facility and production assets using a documented schedule. Manage and assign equipment repairs outside standard hours, assume responsibility for all shifts, and oversee regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance including Lockout/Tagout procedures. Monitor technician training status and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System while partnering with the Production Manager to manage the maintenance budget. Requires minimum 3 years repairing industrial processing equipment, 2 years supervising experience, and ability to work overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment
- Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment. This includes wiring, electrical, mechanical, electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing required
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel is preferred
- Maintenance administration experience including planning, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, parts management, vendor management, maintenance management systems is required
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required
- Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills is required
- Experience in Hand & Power tools is required
- Lockout / Tagout experience is required
- Ability to work overtime as needed is required
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- High school and/or GED is preferred
- Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred
- Applicable military experience will be considered
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising maintenance personnel is preferred
