Job Summary
Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Buildings and Grounds Department, supervising staff, planning and monitoring maintenance projects, and ensuring safety and compliance. Responsibilities include inspecting facilities and systems (fire and security), coordinating contractors, training employees on equipment and safe practices, maintaining records and reports, responding to emergencies, performing hands-on maintenance as needed, evaluating employee performance, and participating in meetings and on-call duties. Key skills include leadership, strong communication, problem-solving, knowledge of safety regulations and facility management, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in varied conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Formal training in maintenance, plant operations, tools, or equipment preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment, or facilities
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License required
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of maintenance operations, safety regulations, and facility management practices
- Ability to prioritize work, manage projects, and support a team environment
- Stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Walk, bend, squat, kneel, and perform physical maintenance tasks
- Lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
