Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations and physical upkeep of assigned communities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and OSHA requirements. Lead and supervise maintenance staff, conducting regular performance feedback, interviews, hiring, and training while managing vendor contracts for repairs and make-ready work. Complete work orders, inventory tracking, and data entry within company software, including pre-move-out and preventative maintenance inspections. Manage community grounds, pools, lighting, and systems such as boilers and elevators, while responding to after-hours emergency calls and enforcing on-call schedules. Address unresolved resident issues, ensure workshop safety, and maintain equipment and supplies within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of related maintenance experience, preferably at a supervisory level
- High school education or equivalent required
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to speak, read and write English in a manner sufficient to carry out duties
- Successful completion of background check and drug screen required
- Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. meeting I-9 guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer relevant professional certifications such as CPO and CAMT
- Experience successfully leading a team with the ability to source, interview and manage employee performance
- High level of competency and efficiency in all aspects of maintenance operations including electrical, plumbing, pool maintenance, appliance repair, carpentry, and painting
- Thorough knowledge of Federal Fair Housing and other applicable local, state, or federal regulations
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to address the needs of residents in a friendly and professional manner
- Proficient using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and property management software, preferably Yardi
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
