Job Summary
Manage, motivate, and develop maintenance staff while supervising repairs and prioritizing work orders through the CMMS. Perform periodic equipment inspections, liaise with Engineering and Operations on availability, and assist with capital projects and job plan development. Participate in production and KPI review meetings to drive facility uptime and production efficiency. Identify root causes of equipment failures to develop new maintenance tasks that eliminate future issues. Ensure compliance with BRC, CFIA, and provincial labour regulations while adhering to collective bargaining agreements. Demonstrate commitment to the progressive health and safety and food safety programs.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment
- College graduate from an electro-mechanical program or a licensed tradesperson with related experience
- Willing and flexible to work shifts as and when required
- You are comfortable using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), SAP-PM preferably
- You are recognized for your ability to troubleshoot and demonstrate organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of ammonia-based plant refrigeration systems and their operation
- Ability to manage maintenance and maintenance resources effectively through the use of key performance indicators and benchmarking
- Proven record for identifying reliability issues and participation implementing improvement strategies
- Demonstrate an active involvement/commitment to a progressive health and safety program and food safety program
- Ensure compliance with BRC and CFIA requirements as it relates to food safety
- Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal labour regulations and adhere to the terms and conditions specified in the appropriate collective bargaining agreements
Desired Qualifications
- A passion for a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with the concept of world class maintenance and best practices
- Awareness of Six Sigma, RCM and autonomous maintenance principles
- Familiarity in preventive and predictive maintenance tactics
- Experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment would be an asset
