Maintenance Supervisor - Maintenance

Job Summary

Plan preventive maintenance schedules, inspect school buildings for repair needs, and oversee staff performance to ensure a safe environment. Manage complex multi-trade projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and contractor oversight, while estimating labor and material costs. Direct regulatory compliance programs covering OSHA, AHERA, and indoor air quality standards, and administer service contracts through performance evaluations and invoice verification. Monitor the FMX work order system to track metrics and recommend continuous improvement strategies. Coordinate maintenance activities with Capital Improvement Projects and bond-funded construction to minimize operational disruption.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree
  • Five or more years of directly related and progressively responsible maintenance or facilities experience
  • Current valid Arizona driver's license
  • Current AHERA Contractor Supervisor/Certification
  • Current AHERA Building Inspector Certification
  • Current AHERA Management Planner Certification
  • Project Designer Certification (must have or be able to attain within the first 6 months)
  • Verifiable supervisory or management responsibilities for a period of two years
  • One year field experience with working knowledge of all disciplines of asbestos, 40CFR part 763, and asbestos containing materials in school
  • Ability and willingness to work alternate shifts, after hours and weekends

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OSHA, AHERA, NEC, U.B.C., ADEQ, and local and state laws
  • Knowledge of all types of Energy Management Systems pertaining to the HVAC-R industry
  • Knowledge of building construction methods and building trades
  • Ability to monitor and track projects, billings, job submittals, scheduling, bidding, contracts and job progress
  • Proven ability as a self-starter and skillful time manager
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and establish and maintain cooperation and effective working relationships with district personnel of all levels, trade professionals and outside agencies
  • Computer proficiency to include basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a Graduate
