Job Summary
Maintenance Supervisor for JM Steel in Huger, SC leading the maintenance team to design, supervise, and implement preventative maintenance, machine upgrades, and process improvements. Partners with electrical/mechanical systems teams and corporate staff to address plant issues, drive downtime reduction, and improve productivity. Requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Systems Engineering (or equivalent), 10+ years in manufacturing, and 3–5 years of supervisory experience. Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of steel service center operations and PM optimization; strong communication, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Off-shift availability for equipment support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, Required or Equivalent Workplace Experience
- Minimum 10 (Ten) Years Experience in a Manufacturing Environment, Improving Processes and KPIs
- 3-5 (Three-to-Five) Years Supervisory Experience, Preferred
- Steel Service Center Experience, Preferred
- Industrial Electrical Maintenance Experience, A Plus
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strategic mindset with sound technical skills, analytical ability, problem solving, strong operational focus, and creative thinking
- Software skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD
- High frequency tube welding and steel coil slitting is a plus
- Effective communication skills - both oral and written
- Effective project management skills and interpersonal skills working with teams
- Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships and cross functional collaboration
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams
- Attention to detail and desire to work in a manufacturing environment with off-shift hours (evening and weekends) when equipment or operational needs require support
