Job Summary
Senior-level Maintenance Supervisor oversees advanced maintenance and construction activities for the Plant Maintenance department. Responsibilities include supervising maintenance staff, scheduling and assigning work, requisitioning materials, estimating hours and materials, coordinating with other supervisors, overseeing preventive maintenance programs, supervising contractor repairs, ensuring code compliance per NFPA standards, managing life-safety system work orders via CAFM, and leading cost analyses. Must validate work within budgets and timelines, facilitate safety and environmental compliance, and maintain 100% HHSC-mandated training for direct-report staff. Requires ability to read blueprints and AutoCAD drawings, supervise crews in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, and communicate effectively with management, vendors, and hospital staff. Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license or obtain one within 90 days and pass required pre-employment checks; on-call and weekend/holiday work may be required. Telework may be eligible per agency policy.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is required.
- Vocational training in designated maintenance trade is preferred.
- Experience in general construction work.
- Experience in maintenance work.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
