Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary
Supervise maintenance staff by determining workloads and schedules, evaluating personnel for hiring or termination recommendations, and motivating teams to deliver quality service. Maintain established facilities in accordance with local and state building codes while managing all maintenance department activities regarding cost, methods, and staffing. Enforce security and safety regulations, negotiate sub-contractor contracts, and inspect work to ensure safe practices are followed. Develop and implement departmental policies, oversee preventative maintenance procedures, and prepare service estimates based on labor, material, and machine costs. Establish working relationships with vendors and the public while ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and performance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required (no restrictions)
- Basic computer skills
- Considerable knowledge of practices, methods, and techniques pertaining to building and facilities maintenance and repair
- Considerable knowledge of the tools and equipment associated with the building maintenance and construction trades
- Considerable knowledge of safety standards and precautions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Sound problem solving skills
- Ability to train staff on company policies as well as on their job responsibilities
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to enforce security/safety regulations
- Very organized
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to concisely follow client direction
- Ability to review detailed documents
- Ability to read computer screens
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
