Job Summary
Lead and manage a maintenance staff at an affordable-housing property, overseeing maintenance operations, performing hands-on maintenance, and ensuring the property meets ownership and management standards. Responsibilities include hiring, developing, training, and holding staff accountable; conducting weekly staff meetings; creating work schedules for staff and vendors; maintaining preventive maintenance programs and curb appeal; completing monthly building and unit inspections; reviewing third-party inspections; maintaining knowledge of maintenance programs and capital improvement projects; soliciting bids from contractors with approvals; participating in on-call activities during off-hours; and performing hands-on maintenance. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 3-5 years of relevant experience, 1-3 years of supervisory experience, knowledge of electrical/plumbing/appliances/HVAC, CAMT certification, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and strong customer service and communication skills. The role is full-time, based in White Plains, NY, with on-site work expectations and on-call duties; salary is $25.00 per hour (~$52,000/year).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC
- CAMT certification
- Experience with computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding supervisory skills
- Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs
