Job Summary
Oversee daily maintenance operations at Amber Meadows, a 66-unit affordable housing community in Longview, TX, by supervising staff and performing hands-on work across appliances, carpentry, masonry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Manage grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management while completing monthly building and unit inspections. Prepare work schedules for the maintenance team and vendors, maintain the preventive maintenance program, and review third-party inspections to resolve repairs. Solicit bids from contractors with approval from the Property Manager and Regional Maintenance Manager. This role requires availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs. The pay rate is $22.67-$25.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Less than 1 year of supervisory experience
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)
- A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy
- EPA and / or HVAC certification
- Experience with computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding supervisory skills
- Ability to manage and work with a diverse group of people and personalities
- Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs
- Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST
- Ability to perform hands-on maintenance activity
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training
- CAMT certification
- HVAC, asbestos, or lead-based paint certification
