Job Summary
Lead plant maintenance by supervising front-line employees on mechanical and electrical work, coordinating daily maintenance plans, and managing Work Orders for urgent repairs. Direct safety compliance with the Mine Health & Safety Act, MSHA, and SHARP plans while planning resources and budgeting for site goals. Monitor key performance indicators, implement corrective solutions for product or process nonconformities, and coordinate outages to minimize downtime. Provide technical support to production and project teams, conduct safety training, and lead operational excellence initiatives. Ensure all personnel execute the management system effectively and meet quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years industrial, mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- industry background in heavy manufacturing related
- mining, paper mills, steel plants, refining, utilities, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants industries
- working knowledge of material handling feeders, convey or belt systems
- general knowledge pumping systems
- experience in PLC or Wonderware troubleshooting
- Strong computer skills
- experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- SAP
- Microsoft Project
- Proven in leading operational excellence through applying behavior based management
- Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills
- Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong safety work ethic
- Fluency in oral and written English
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- experience in PLC or Wonderware troubleshooting a plus
- Strong computer skills; experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP and Microsoft Project experience is a plus
