Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day shop operations, supervise repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, and coordinate all maintenance work and repairs while monitoring progress and quality. Review maintenance requests, prepare work orders, and establish a Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure continuous equipment operation. Manage work crews for major overhauls, replacements, and special projects, providing direct leadership through coaching, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary action as needed. Interpret and enforce organizational policies, safety regulations, and compliance with state and federal laws. Assist the Maintenance Manager to maximize operational efficiency and minimize unscheduled downtime.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma
- minimum of 3 years of responsible leadership experience in management or supervisory positions
- 3-5 years' experience in a fleet maintenance environment
- legally eligible to work in the US
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- good analytical reasoning and justification skills
- an ability to teach and train others
Desired Qualifications
- A valid CDL driver's license
