Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate all custodial, maintenance, and security contractor work, including scheduling repairs, assigning jobs, ordering supplies, and closing out work orders. Train, coach, and supervise staff while managing time clocks, approving leave, and recommending disciplinary action. Maintain buildings and perform minor construction, grounds, and electrical projects as needed, ensuring repairs follow manufacturer guidelines and safety policies. Serves on call 24/7 to respond to the security contractor and participates in hiring and regular department meetings. Requires five years of carpentry and maintenance experience with two years in a supervisory role, plus a valid driver's license. Fulltime position in Longview, WA, reporting to the Facilities Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Five years' carpentry and maintenance experience
- Two years in a supervisory capacity
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation
- Knowledge of traditional form of government and tribal customs and traditions
- Knowledge of the methods and practices used in preventive maintenance and repair work
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices
- Knowledge of safety codes and procedures
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction and maintenance of buildings and structures
- Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs
- Skill in supervising, training, and evaluating assigned staff
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks and work with vendors
- Ability to operate construction equipment such as saws, man lifts, lawn mowers, and assorted hand and power tools
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees, contractors, and the public
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines
- Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below
