Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary
Manage physical facilities and maintenance personnel to ensure safe operational readiness for patients and staff in accordance with codes. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for hospital buildings, equipment, and systems including boilers, chillers, and cooling towers. Evaluate work request priorities, schedule loads, and inspect major repairs while overseeing contract labor and vendor services. Coordinate energy conservation programs, safety initiatives, and life safety inspections for fire alarms and sprinkler systems. Review equipment specifications for purchases and requisition supplies through central purchasing. Correct identified deficiencies in life safety and environmental testing within mandated timeframes. Perform related duties as required to maintain optimum operating conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Associate Degree
- Maintenance Trade Technical Degree
- Five years in engineering
- Five years in healthcare maintenance
- Five years in construction management
- Five years in building/construction regulatory inspection
- Five years' experience in electrical
- Five years' experience in plumbing/med gases
- Five years' experience in carpentry
- Five years' experience in refrigeration
- Five years' experience in plant mechanics
- Five years' experience in institutional maintenance
- Five years' experience in the operation and maintenance of a steam generating plant
- Supervisory/management experience
- Experience in operation and maintenance of hospital power plant supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Associate Degree or Maintenance Trade Technical Degree
- Five years in engineering, healthcare maintenance, construction management or building/construction regulatory inspection
- Five (5) years' experience in one of the following trades: electrical, plumbing/med gases, carpentry, refrigeration, plant mechanics, or institutional maintenance
- Five (5) years' experience in the operation and maintenance of a steam generating plant, preferred
- Supervisory/management experience preferred
- Experience in operation and maintenance of hospital power plant supervision desirable
