Maintenance Supervisor -Ammonia Refrigeration

Job Summary

Supervise the day-to-day activities of a maintenance team responsible for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic servicing of production machinery, equipment, facilities, utilities, and grounds. Direct maintenance and repair work in a safe, efficient manner while developing and managing a preventive maintenance program to minimize production downtime. Enforce company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements by inspecting work in progress and upon completion. Participate in HR activities including hiring, performance management, scheduling, and team development. Partner with Operations and Sanitation to ensure equipment remains production-ready. Identify and implement equipment improvements, process enhancements, and capital needs to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Requires four years of relevant maintenance experience, one year of leadership experience, and working knowledge of industrial machinery and CMMS systems.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Four (4) or more years of relevant maintenance experience
  • One (1) or more years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • demonstrated leadership capabilities sufficient to perform the responsibilities of the role
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Understanding of industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, and production processes
  • Good leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and motivate a team
  • Ability to apply mathematical and mechanical principles when troubleshooting equipment and maintenance issues
  • Effective technology skills, including CMMS and Microsoft Office applications
  • Skilled in root cause analysis, accident investigations, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to research, evaluate, and interpret maintenance and operational data
  • Effective communication, organization, time-management, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Skilled at resource management, delegation, workload planning, and prioritizing deliverables
  • Occasional travel may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in poultry, meat, or food manufacturing
  • Experience supporting or leading fabrication, welding, and equipment modification projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Food Science, or a related field
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems, CMMS software, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives
