Maintenance Superintendent

Job Summary
Lead the maintenance organization for a 24/7 catalyst recycling facility by establishing expectations, conducting field audits, and coaching supervisors to ensure safety, quality, and productivity. Direct all preventive, predictive, corrective, and turnaround activities while managing mechanical, electrical, and utility teams to maximize plant availability. Prioritize work orders based on risk and criticality, monitor equipment KPIs, and oversee the annual maintenance budget including labor, contractors, and materials. Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations through detailed CMMS documentation and weekly production planning meetings. Manage personnel hiring, training, and evaluation while responding to plant emergencies during off-hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or combination of Trade certification and leadership experience
- 15+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- 10+ years leading maintenance teams
- Experience supervising multiple maintenance disciplines
- Experience managing contractors
- Vibration Analysis
- Infrared Thermography
- Oil Analysis
- Mechanical Integrity Programs
- CMMS experience – such as SAP, ROSS, Maximo, JD Edwards, etc
- Ability to work throughout an industrial manufacturing facility
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to respond to plant emergencies during off-hours when necessary
- 24/7 continuous operation
- Industrial manufacturing environment
- Exposure to heat, dust, noise, chemicals, and moving equipment
- Occasional evening and weekend work
- Participation in plant turnarounds and emergency response
