Job Summary
The Maintenance Specialist Master Technician performs routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems within healthcare facilities, diagnosing and repairing complex equipment to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include conducting preventive maintenance inspections, documenting findings, coordinating maintenance with clinical/administrative teams to align with patient-care priorities, ensuring health, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate service histories, and mentoring junior maintenance staff. The role requires advanced diagnostic and repair skills, strong communication for documenting activities, and CMMS proficiency to support operations and asset management.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational maintenance training
- 8+ years maintenance experience, at least 4 years in healthcare or similarly regulated environment
- Proven HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas system troubleshooting and repair
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and healthcare regulatory compliance
- ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Maintenance Personnel certification or equivalent licensure
