Job Summary
Assist with preventive maintenance throughout the facility, performing minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall. Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and inspect resident rooms and common areas for safety hazards. Maintain HVAC equipment, lighting, doors, locks, and plumbing fixtures while helping maintain grounds, parking areas, and the exterior of the building. Move furniture and equipment as needed, assist with emergency repairs and after-hours maintenance, and perform routine inspections to document completed work. Ensure compliance with OSHA, Life Safety Code, Title 22, and facility policies while maintaining tools and an organized maintenance shop. Support emergency preparedness, fire drills, and life safety inspections, working closely with all departments to ensure resident comfort and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, and walk for extended periods
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have open availability, including weekends, holidays, and the ability to work different shifts as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous maintenance experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care facility is preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and general building maintenance
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
