Maintenance Specialist II

Job Summary
Collaborate with technicians to repair, maintain, and troubleshoot automated material handling systems, including diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues using technical drawings and diagnostic tools. Independently perform audits, preventive maintenance, and repairs on conveyor and sortation components, focusing on 3-phase systems up to 480VAC, PLCs, and external I/O devices. Execute general facility maintenance tasks such as light bulb replacement, plumbing, and electrical repairs while maintaining tool inventory and completing work orders. Participate in conveyor system cleaning and adhere to safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out, while working at heights of 40ft or more. Requires flexibility for holidays, weekends, and extreme temperatures, with a schedule that may include extended periods of standing, lifting, and pushing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5-10 years of related experience in mechanical troubleshooting, technical troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or installation
- A strong electrical background with knowledge of low voltage controls and PLC
- Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of: Conveyor and/or sortation systems
- Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of: Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of: Solid electrical troubleshooting skills
- Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of: Solid controls troubleshooting skills
- Required prior experience and/or working knowledge of: Preventative/predictive maintenance, modification, upgrade support, and installation
- Willingness to become certified on powered industrial equipment
- Must possess visual acuity to read fine print as needed
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions
- Must have the capability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to push or pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and grasp products
- Flexibility to maintain a schedule that may include holidays and weekends as necessary
- Knowledge of safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out)
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- AAS in an Engineering-related field is a plus, or we will consider relevant experience, including military service
- Certificates/Licenses in related fields such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, CMRP, and/or CMRT, etc
- Experience with CMMS
- Preferred prior experience and/or working knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens products
- Network troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience working with and managing outside vendors, customers, and business partners
- Prior working knowledge of current building vendors, software, platforms, and systems is desired
- Previous industry-based experience is a bonus
