Job Summary
The Nebraska Department of Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Specialist I to perform various facility maintenance activities including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC. The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in a relevant field and experience in building maintenance, with a focus on preventative/predictive maintenance procedures and participation in office remodeling projects.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding, or other building trade
- Experience in building maintenance or a mechanical trade
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with occupational safety precautions
- Experience in Building Automation Software and Hardware
- Experience in troubleshooting HVAC components
Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation
- Some overnight travel to remote locations required
